Alan has written many books of fiction for children and
young adults as well as educational texts, and has a long
involvement with children’s literature.
He is a past president of the NSW Children’s Book Council
and has been a judge for the NSW Premier’s Book Awards
(children’s books). His books have been on State Premiers’
reading lists.
Alan has had books published overseas as well as in
Australia.
He particularly enjoys writing quirky stories for younger
children, and zany mysteries and more sinister stories
for older readers.

Alan will give talks about writing and books for children and adults.
A popular children’s author, Alan has now written and
published over twenty novellas and short stories for
young readers, and his books for older readers (YA) are
also popular in schools and libraries.
Elaine trained as a teacher at Bathurst Teachers College.
She has more than 25 years teaching experience in
primary schools with both the NSW Dept of Education
and International Schools in Papua New Guinea.
As part of her degree, Elaine worked in children’s theatre,
and has a major in Children’s Literature.
She worked with secondary students as coordinator of
the NSW Talent Development Project, many of whom
have performed in the annual NSW Schools Spectacular,
which is now shown every year on national television.
Elaine is a published writer of children’s poetry, short stories
and educational books.
